nacionalidades Kichwua, en un 53,5 % y Cofán en un 43,6%. La lengua predominante fue la A’ingae-
español. La misma que se encuentra relacionada con las lenguas andinas o lenguas barbacoanas.
En las tallas de los participantes, se observa una media en hombres de 159,84±8,25, mientras
que la media de las mujeres es de 153,28±7,28. Cifras superiores a las encontradas en población
indígena Awá realizado por Oleas Galeas y otros (2017), en donde se observó, que la media de la talla
de mujeres fue de 145,6±7,3 cm y en hombres Awá de 156,5± 6,5 cm. Asimismo, las cifras mayores
de talla se observan en las edades comprendidas entre 18 a 39 años de edad con 157,7±5,4.
De acuerdo con el peso se observó que la media en los hombres se encuentra en 73,08±18,51
mayor que las mujeres pues esta es de 62,17±14,30; y en relación con los grupos de edad aquellos
que se encuentran entre los 30 y 39 años su media se sitúa en 69±21,66; Pese a que varios autores
señalan que la población indígena es más propensa a padecer bajo peso, los datos obtenidos
evidenciaron lo contrario en ambos géneros (Vinueza Veloz y otros, 2023).
La media del IMC, indica un valor de 28,86±9,01 en hombres y en las mujeres un 26,43±5,22;
de las diferentes clasicaciones de este indicador nos muestran que el 48,51% de los participantes
se encuentran con sobrepeso y que su vez el 17,94% de las mujeres tiene alta incidencia en obesidad
tipo I, esto relacionado con un metaanálisis en donde concluyen que la distribución de grasa por
sexo en este caso de las mujeres, conlleva a índices más altos de IMC (Mouchti y otros, 2023).
Con respecto a la grasa corporal, el 39,1% de hombres, presentan valores muy elevados,
en comparación a las mujeres quiénes poseen en un 35,9%, tomando en cuenta que existe mayor
población de este sexo; Así mismo aquellos que se encontraban entre los 30- 39 años, tienen
un porcentaje más elevado de grasa corporal (38,2±8,8). Estos resultados guardan similitud
con resultado obtenidos en Honduras, en donde las mujeres poseen un 60,6% de grasa (Vargas
Cantarero, 2018). Igualmente, Robertson y otros (2020) mencionan que la elevación de este
indicador con valores que indican sobrepeso es considerada como un mayor riesgo de padecer
miocardiopatía en mujeres jóvenes, y que aquellas que se encuentran con obesidad incrementan
este riesgo cinco veces ( Robertson y otros, 2020).
Por otro lado, la presencia de grasa visceral, independientemente del género, tiene niveles
altos en el 19,80% de los participantes, siendo mayor en hombres (47,8%), que en mujeres (11,5%).
A diferencia, de lo mencionado en el metaanálisis, realizado por Mouchti y otros (2023), quienes
concluyen que, debido a la distribución de grasa por género en el caso femenino, implica valores
más altos de grasa visceral. Al respecto, Kroker Lobos y otros (2020), en una investigación previa,
aseguran que el peso y la grasa corporal aumentan de manera considerable en la edad adulta.
Los resultados de los valores de músculo en su mayoría 56,43%, se encuentran dentro de
parámetros normales independientemente del género. Al comparar con los resultados obtenidos en
otro análisis en Ecuador en donde se valora a tres etnias; tanto indígena, mestiza y afro, se destaca
valores músculo adecuados (Barragán García, 2021).
Varios autores concuerdan que un exceso de adiposidad aumenta la prevalencia de
sobrepeso y obesidad y por ende riesgo de padecer enfermedades crónicas (Larsson & Burgess,
2021). Siendo así que en un estudio realizado en Beijín señala la importancia de fomentar en las
personas una mejor comprensión sobre la composición corporal y cada uno de sus parámetros
para prevenir activamente la aparición de obesidad (Huayi y otros, 2023). Esto como parte de
educación en salud, qué busca llegar a los usuarios con alternativas de vida más saludables acorde
a sus necesidades y prioridades; ya que el estado nutricional no puede modicar el comportamiento
