natural.

Abstract
Ibarra has beautiful natural places such as the Laguna de Yahuarcocha, which draws attention to tourists
who like hiking, unfortunately this tourist site does not have a suitable tourist signage to help this activity,
the goal then of the project was to implement a (Ribas, 2015) (Sandoval, 2007) application of trails with
mobile technology to help the national or foreign tourist to practice self-guided hiking, for this beautiful
place in the city. Three areas of research have been considered: geographic information systems, mobile
technology and hiking as a tourist activity. The deductive method was applied in the analysis of the
processes of georeferencing and design of geoportals, and together with the inductive method, which helped
to identify the needs in the presentation, visualization and recognition of touristic points of the trails to be
implemented. The result was an Interactive Android App that, through the Geographical Positioning System,
allowed the visitor of the Yahuarcocha lagoon to make the Hiking as a tourist activity, knowing and self-
guided by the routes that are visualized in an intuitive interface that presents the application, achieving in
this way the satisfaction of the tourist in this modality as the surveys carried out prove, besides it was added
to the trekking as a tourist activity, in addition to those offered by this magnificent natural environment.
