Abstract

The COVID 19 has impacted the socioeconomic system worldwide and the MiPymes in the province of Carchi have not been the exception, harmed by the suspension of their productive and commercial activities due to the decrease in demand for biosafety standards, they have been forced to modify their forms of business, thus causing an impact on social and economic factors. The approach of this research is qualitative and the objective was to apply Pearson's chi-square test with the statistical software SPSS-22, to test independence in three cases, relating the variables education-health, quality of life-political representation and governance-participation. The method was inductive, using descriptive, correlational, field and documentary types of research; for the analysis, information was collected concerning demographic factors, educational level, access to education, illiteracy rate, access to health, quality of life, political representation, governance and participation. In order to respond to the hypotheses proposed, it was assumed that the variables under study are independent; that is, that there is no association between them. The purpose of the test was to verify the hypothesis through the significance level; therefore, if the significance value is equal to or greater than the alpha (α = 0.05), the null hypothesis is accepted and if it is lower, the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted.
