Abstract

The study evaluated the impact of a virtual classroom developed in the Moodle platform under the PACIE methodology in the subject General Human Anatomy, involving second-semester students from the Physical Activity and Sports program at Universidad Politécnica Estatal del Carchi. A quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest was applied to a sample of 75 students using a validated 15-item questionnaire. The instrument showed adequate reliability, with Cronbach’s Alpha values of 0.747 in the pretest and 0.827 in the posttest. Significant progress was observed across all dimensions: cognitive (anatomical planes and axes) from 41.3% to 75%; the osteomuscular from 16% to 65.3%; articular from 50.7% to 65.3%; and functional (muscular actions in sports) from 49.3% to 96%. The Shapiro–Wilk test (p < 0.05) confirmed the absence of normality, and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test (W = 172.5; p < 0.001) revealed significant differences between both measurements. It is concluded that the PACIE methodology, applied in Moodle environments, represents an effective strategy to strengthen anatomical learning and professional training in sports sciences.
