The present investigation was carried out in the Tulcán province of Carchi, in the State Polytechnic University of Carchi, in order to evaluate the incidence of COVID - 19, in the members of the university before and after the vaccination stage, for this it was PCR tests were carried out during the period in which the inoculation against the pathogen had not yet been carried out and PCR tests were carried out in the same way, in the post-vaccination period. For this study, 92 samples were analyzed during the phase before the vaccine, of which 39 were positive for the disease, resulting in a 39.10% incidence for COVID - 19, in the UPEC participants. In the post-vaccination stage, 92 samples were analyzed, of which no positive results were presented, resulting in 0% incidence for COVID - 19. These results indicate that the application of the vaccine in the period in which this study was carried out of incidence had a positive effect on the decrease in the number of positive results in the university community, this was also added to the fact that biosafety measures were applied by the institution, to help with the decrease in the number of cases of the disease
